The Little Green Fingers Gang
The Little Green Fingers Gang will be starting on 22 March from 1pm to 2.30pm. This parent/carers and toddler group is all about having outdoor fun and discovering the wonders of wildlife. Each week there will be different activities including crafts, exploring the community garden, planting, digging and sowing seeds. Please dress for the weather! If it is really bad then there are plenty of indoor activities we can do! There will be a small cost of £1 for first child and 50p for siblings. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Free refreshments provided.

Health Trainer Drop In
Health trainers are here to support you have a happy, healthy lifestyle. Health trainers can support you with a range of different issues including healthy eating, exercise, quitting smoking, alcohol or drug issues, sexual health, stress, emotional wellbeing and advice on local services. Starting from Tuesday 23rd May 10.30am-12pm, here at Bechange we will have a Health Trainer providing free weekly drop-in sessions welcome to all of the public
Young Parents Group – Are you under 20 years old and a young mum or young mum to be?
A FREE group for young mums and young mums to be under 20 years old and their children. This weekly group will help you and your baby by providing support and advice to help you be a more confident parent; a chance to make friends and for your little one to do the same! There will be plenty of activities including cookery, crafts and support with things like budgeting, engaging in college, work o apprenticeships. A free creche with qualified staff is available while you take part in the group and lunch is provided too. Starting from 26th January every Thursdays from 1-3pm. Community Garden – Garden Club

Family Fun Sessions
Bechange runs sessions for families to have fun together during the school holidays and after school. These sessions are for families who have children 2-10 and include craft and play activities . Introduction to Customer Service
This course will provide an introduction to skills and personal qualities required for careers and job opportunities within the customer services sector. You need to be 19 or over to attend this course. The course is facilitated by Response Adult Education and is free to those on a low wage or unemployed. The course runs for two sessions of three hours, on the 10th and 17th of November 10m-1pm. Call 01304840134 to find out more or book your place.
Food Hygiene Level 1 and Level 2
An opportunity to gain an accredited qualification covering food safety. The course is facilitated by Response Kent Adult Education and is ideal for those wishing to work in catering or in an environment where there is food. Level 1 covers serving food and can be followed by level 2 which covers preparing food safely. Response Kent Adult Education require participants of this course to be 19 or over, be unemployed or on a low income.
Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Level 2 Safety Training
An opportunity to gain an accredited qualification, this half day course takes place in October (four and half hours). This qualification is designed for those who want to understand using substances hazardous to health at work. Relevant in many industries including Hairdressing and Beauty, Cleaning and Maintenance, Engineering and Printing. It introduces learners to substances, the risks and controls available and outlines what to expect from a control of substances to health (COSHH) assessment. Maths Functional Skills Level 1 &2
A friendly and relaxed course which aims to build your confidence in everyday maths. Facilitated by East Kent College, the groups are small and friendly and cover entry level to level 2 Maths. The course runs term time only, sessions are weekly and run for two hours.We currently have this course running every Tuesday 9.30-11.30am. Call 01304840134 to book your place.
English Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2
A friendly and relaxed course which aims to build your confidence in English and give the skills that are needed in everyday life. Facilitated by East Kent College, the groups are small and friendly and cover entry level 1, 2 and 3 and level 1 and level 2 which is the equivalent of a GCSE . Courses cover the three elements of English, speaking, listening and Reading and writing. This allows you to move at a pace that is suitable for you. The course runs term time only, sessions are weekly and run for two hours. We currently do not have this course running but if you would like to go on a waiting list for the next course please contact us.
Solihull Parenting Programme
The Solihull Programme is intended for parents and carers with young children who want to know more about sensitive and effective parenting. This special programme teams together the solihull parenting course with baby massage and sensory play. Empowering parents to build on their own skills, develop ways to sensitively approach behavior management and solve difficulties in the future. Sessions cover topics like tuning into your child’s developmental needs; self regulation and anger; how are you and your child feeling; communication and the parent and child relations. The course is run by Bechange support workers who have been trained to deliver this programme which runs for ten weekly, two hour sessions. Coming Soon!!
The Do Try This At Home School
Qualified primary school teacher and early years practitioner Sarah Vaughan, runs classes for children and their parents/ guardians.The classes are all about families learning together and children engaging on a level where they feel comfortable. There will be two sessions held at Bechange, these include:
Aboriginal Art Session: Wednesday 24th May 2017:10am -12.30pm
Let your creativity run wild and come and learn about beautiful Aboriginal art work and the stories it tells. Create your own work of art which tells a story, using paints and sticks and other tools. This is a structured session aimed at children who are home schooled focusing on providing activities to support children who have AEN/SEN. As well as providing lots of activities to try, the sensory room will be open for part of the session.
All children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the sessions. The cost of these sessions is £7 per family, which includes all resources. Bring some snacks or a packed lunch, as the last half an hour of the session will be lunch and a chance to share our work and what we have learned. Places are limited and must be paid for, in full, in advance to secure your place.
