The Little Green Fingers Gang

The Little Green Fingers Gang will be starting on 22 March from 1pm to 2.30pm. This parent/carers and toddler group is all about having outdoor fun and discovering the wonders of wildlife.  Each week there will be different activities including crafts, exploring the community garden, planting, digging and sowing seeds.   Please dress for the weather!  If it is really bad then there are plenty of indoor activities we can do! There will be a small cost of £1 for first child and 50p for siblings.   All children must be accompanied by an adult. Free refreshments provided.

Bechange Benefits and Housing Advice Drop In

Are you looking for advice regarding your benefit entitlement, unsure of the housing bidding system or require some help with filling in/understanding forms?

Come see us Thursdays and Fridays from 10am till 12pm (First session Tuesday 16th May)

We will be offering advice, support and information over a cuppa during these sessions.

Health Trainer Drop In

Health trainers are here to support you have a happy, healthy lifestyle. Health trainers can support you with a range of different issues including healthy eating, exercise, quitting smoking, alcohol or drug issues, sexual health, stress, emotional wellbeing and advice on local services.  Starting from Tuesday 23rd May 10.30am-12pm, here at Bechange we will have a Health Trainer providing free weekly drop-in sessions welcome to all of the public

Family Fun Sessions

Bechange runs sessions for families to have fun together during the school holidays and after school.  These sessions are for families who have children 2-10 and include craft and play activities .  All children must be accompanied by an adult.   To book a place for your family  please call 01304 840134. Maths Functional Skills Level 1 &2

A friendly and relaxed course which aims to build your confidence in everyday maths.  Facilitated by East Kent College, the groups are small and friendly and cover entry level to level 2 Maths.   The course runs term time only, sessions are weekly and run for two hours.We currently have this course running every Tuesday 9.30-11.30am. Call 01304840134 to book your place.

English Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2

A friendly and relaxed course which aims to build your confidence in English and give the skills that are needed in everyday life. Facilitated by East Kent College, the groups are small and friendly and cover entry level 1, 2 and 3 and level 1 and level 2 which is the equivalent of  a GCSE .  Courses cover the three elements of English,  speaking, listening and Reading and writing.  This  allows you to move at a pace that is suitable for you. The course runs term time only, sessions are weekly and run for two hours. We currently do not have this course running but if you would like to go on a waiting list for the next course please contact us.

Solihull Parenting Programme

The Solihull Programme is intended for parents and carers with young children who want to know more about sensitive and effective parenting. This special programme teams together the solihull parenting course with baby massage and sensory play. Empowering parents to build on their own skills, develop ways to sensitively approach behavior management and solve difficulties in the future. Sessions cover topics like tuning into your child’s developmental needs; self regulation and anger; how are you and your child feeling; communication and the parent and child relations.  The course is run by Bechange support workers who have been trained to deliver this programme which runs for ten weekly, two hour sessions.  Story Time Sign – Baby Signing

Baby signing classes with a difference. Story time sign offers a relaxed, multi-sensory way for you and your baby to learn to sign together. Different, useful signs are taught each week based on a simple story or picture book, alongside songs, music and sensory play.

Story Time Sign classes will return from Friday 22nd September – Friday 20th October. 10.30-11.20am,  At Bechange, Ackholt Road, Aylesham. Suitable for babies from 5 -17 months, (However, if there is demand I will happily offer classes for toddlers 18 months – 2 years as well). Health and Social Care Course
Gain a highly recognised City and Guilds Level 1 qualification, that can help you get started in a wide range of health and social care roles. Starting Thursday 14th September. Every Thursday 9.30am-12.30pm (excluding half term). Facilitated by Social Enterprise Kent. Please ring 01304840134 to book your place.

Introduction to Customer Service

This course will provide an introduction to skills and personal qualities required for careers and job opportunities within the customer services sector. You need to be 19 or over to attend this course. The course is facilitated by Response Adult Education and is free to those on a low wage or unemployed. The course runs for two sessions of three hours, on the 10th and 17th of November 10m-1pm. We currently do not have this course running but if you would like to go on a waiting list for the next course please contact us on 01304840134.

Food Hygiene Level 1 and Level 2 

An opportunity to gain an accredited qualification covering food safety. The course is facilitated by Response Kent Adult Education and is ideal for those wishing to work in catering or in an environment where there is food.  Level 1 covers serving food and can be followed by level 2 which covers preparing food safely. Response Kent Adult Education require participants of this course to be 19 or over, be unemployed or on a low income. We currently do not have this course running but if you would like to go on a waiting list for the next course please contact us on 01304840134.

Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Level 2 Safety Training

An opportunity to gain an accredited qualification, this half day course takes place in October  (four and half hours). This qualification is designed for those who want to understand using substances hazardous to health at work.  Relevant in many industries including Hairdressing and Beauty, Cleaning and Maintenance, Engineering and Printing. It introduces learners to substances, the risks and controls available and outlines what to expect from a control of substances to health (COSHH) assessment. Response Kent Adult Education require participants of this course to be 19 or over, be unemployed or on a low income. We currently do not have this course running but if you would like to go on a waiting list for the next course please contact us on 01304840134.

Beavers and Cubs

We are pleased to announce that Beavers and Cubs will be starting at Bechange in November. Groups will start from Thursday 2nd November  with Beaver running from 5.15pm  – 6.30pm, followed by cubs from 6.45pm– 8.15pm.
