Walk in Support Services
Bechange Benefits, Housing & Employability Advice Drop In Are you looking for advice regarding your benefit entitlement, unsure of the housing bidding system or require some help with filling in/understanding forms? We also have a regular job club at the drop in so if you need to update your CV, need help looking for or applying for a job on line then support is here for you. Come see us Fridays from 10am till 12pm We will be offering advice, support and information over a cuppa during these sessions.
One YOU Lifestyle Service Drop In
One YOU Lifestyle Service are here to support you to have a happy, healthy lifestyle. One YOU can support you with a range of different issues including healthy eating, exercise, quitting smoking, alcohol or drug issues, sexual health, stress, emotional wellbeing and advice on local services. Every Friday, here at Bechange we will have a One You Lifestyle Adviser providing free weekly drop-in sessions welcome to all of the public or call Lizzie on 07800535541 to make an appointment.
One Stop Shop Domestic Abuse Support
If you or someone you know is affected by Domestic Abuse, help is available. We can provide professional and confidential support at Bechange Community Hub every Wednesday morning 10am – 12pm

Do you need support with using the internet. If you need support getting online, would like to know more about social media, would like to be able to update your CV on line then come along to this friendly drop in advice sessions. Date for the next sessions to be confirmed
Food 4 Thought FREE Come along and find out all about cooking healthy meals on a budget. Get lots of ideas on meal planning, budgeting and understanding food labelling. These Free sessions will include practical cooking (take a meal home for the family) as well as information sessions. Weekly Wednesday afternoon 12.00pm to 1.30pm Starting 24th July – 14 August. CAP Money Course FREE Would you like to get ideas and tips to manage your money . This course facilitated by City Impact will help you manage your money better, learn to budget, save and spend well. Maths Functional Skills Level 1 &2 FREE A friendly and relaxed course which aims to build your confidence in everyday maths. Facilitated by East Kent College, the groups are small and friendly and cover entry level to level 2 Maths. This course runs term time only, sessions are weekly and run for two hours. This course runs every Tuesday 9.30am – 11.30am The course starts back on 15th January 2019 . For people who would like to join this group a new course will start 26th February 2019. English Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2 FREE A friendly and relaxed course which aims to build your confidence in English and give the skills that are needed in everyday life. Facilitated by East Kent College, the groups are small and friendly and cover entry level 1, 2 and 3 and level 1 and level 2 English. Courses cover the three elements of English, speaking, listening and Reading and writing. This course runs term time only, sessions are weekly and run for two hours. This course runs every Thursday 9.30am – 11.30am. The course starts back on 11th January 2019. For people who would like to join this group a new course will start 28th February. CSCS Training FREE Would you like to work in the construction sector. Completing this two day course you can achieve a level 1 Award in Construction Certificate which will allow you to work on a construction sight. The course is followed by a test which is taken at the test centre in Canterbury. The test and course are fully funded and are therefore free. Next Course to be confirmed
Emergency First Aid at Work FREE This course is for Adults who wish to learn how to administer first aid in an emergency situation; through hands-on practical teaching and demonstrations including Defibrillator training. The courese is facilitated by Kent Adult Education Response A certificate will be issued upon satisfactory completion of the course and a short exam, which is then valid for three years. Smart Families Get Fit Together FREE This is a course for families with children in reception to year 6. Families will cook together and make healthy family meals and snack as well as take part in a fun Active Kids session. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Story and Rhyme Time £1 per child Children -0-4 with a parent/carer. Come and listen to a story. Story and Rhyme Time – Thursday 2nd May 1:30-2:30pm – children 0-4 years and parents/carers . A fun and lively sessions with singing, stories and action rhymes, musical instruments and lots more! No need to book a place £1.00 per child. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Playing Out Project Tools, for chidlren aged 7-11. The workshops are part of a large research project exploring outdoor play and are hosted by Canterbury Christ Church University. Experienced researchers offer a day of indoor and outdoor activities for your children, which will involve team-work, problem solving, creativity and lots of free play. The whole session will be video recorded so the researchers can better understand the psychology of group play. All staff are DBS checked and all data collected will be strictly confidential, anonymised and used only by the team of researchers. The next Playing out sessions to be confirmed
For Young People
Clash of Pans FREE For young people in years 7 – 11. Sessions will include learning practical cookery skills, Healthy Eating, experimenting with different ingredients, and understanding food labelling. Cook a snack/meal in our training kitchen to eat at the end of the session. Busy Bees – Upcycling every Friday 10am – 2pm for Adults FREE Upcycling involves taking old furniture and materials and making them into something new and beautiful. This group is all about sharing and learning new skills, as well as spending time with like minded people. The group is friendly and always welcomes new members. Great fun and good for the environment too! No experience necessary. Refreshments available
Swap Shop Our One YOU advisor runs a monthly Swap Shop here at Bechange Community Hub. Come and swap those pre-loved but outgrown children clothes, toys and children equipment. Dates of the next Swap Shops will be 17th May from 11.30am and 21st June

During the year we host a range of courses run by our partners Response Adult Education Response. Participants are required to be 19 or over, be unemployed or on a low income. We will update our website regularly with information on courses that are being run here so please look out for these on our timetable. If you feel that you would like to join us on one of these course please let us know and we can put your name on a waiting list.
- Introduction to Customer Services – This course will provide an introduction to skills and personal qualities required for careers and job opportunities within the customer services sector.
- Food Safety - Level 1 covers serving food and can be followed by level 2 which covers preparing food safely. Ideal for those people who are wanting to work or volunteer in the catering sector.
- COSHH Level 2 Safety Training- This qualification is designed for those who want to understand using substances hazardous to health at work. Relevant in many industries including Hairdressing and Beauty, Cleaning and Maintenance, Engineering and Printing. It introduces learners to substances, the risks and controls available and outlines what to expect from a control of substances to health (COSHH) assessment.
